    Have you ever wanted to learn to play bridge? Did you play it years ago and want to come back? This series of eight bridge classes will help you do just that! You will learn how to bid, how to play, how to defend, and how to find a local club game or tournament. No prior card playing experience is necessary — just a willingness to think, plan, deduce, and work in harmony with a partner.

    I'm a Silver Life Master. I teach classes at:

    * The Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester Thursday nights in the fall and early spring. Classes will resume in mid-September. A donation of $5 per person per class is requested and all donations go to the church. Returning players and newcomers are welcome. The focus will be on advancing players who've played or had some of the prior lessons

    * The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute program on Saturday mornings in April and October. Classes are held at Granite State College located at Mill West across from Catholic Medical Center.

    * The Birch Hill Assisted Living facility in Hooksett once every two months for the benefit of the residents.

    Private group lessons are available on request.

    I am an ACBL certified teacher. Currently I am teaching bridge at the RISE program at Rivier University. The Rivier Institute for Senior Education, RISE, in partnership with the Road Scholar Institute network, is an organization for learning in retirement.

    BEGINNING BRIDGE (Course 1697)
    Learn the joy of playing an endlessly fascinating card game! Topics covered include bidding, declarer, and defensive play. Optional text book can be purchased at first class from facilitator, entitled “Bridge Basics I: An Introduction” for $12.00.

    I'm a Ruby Life Master. I started playing in college in 1971. My first job after graduation was on the ACBL Bulletin staff. I'm currently on the New Hampshire Bridge Association Board of Directors and webmaster for this site. I was on the EMBA Board and co-edited the Quick Trick before moving to New Hampshire. I wrote the bridge column in the Sunday Nashua Telegraph for several years.

    I've devoted a great deal of my adult life to studying how the best players in the world win. If you're serious about winning at duplicate and willing to study the game away from the table, I can help you achieve your goals.

    I'm available for playing, single-table, or classroom instruction.
