The 2024 Annual General Meeting of the club is being held on Saturday 7 September. The formal notice is set out below:

Notice is given that the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Gold Coast Bridge Club is to be held at the club’s premises at 2883 Gold Coast Highway, Surfers Paradise Qld 4217 on Saturday 7th September 2024 at 11 am.
Agenda: As required by the Corporations Act and the Club’s Constitution, including: -
1) Confirmation of the Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting;
2) Receiving the Annual Reports of the Board;
3) Receiving the Statement of Accounts for the year;
4) Discussing and voting upon motions proposed by the Board. Such motions include, but may not be limited to, the following: -
a) “That this meeting notes the club’s existing delegates to the Gold Coast Zone established by the Qld Bridge Association are Odette Hall, Margaret Pisko, Sonya Palfryman and Tom Strong, and endorses the Board’s decision to continue such appointments.”
5) The election of the Club’s officers for the ensuing year;
6) The appointment of the Club’s Auditor;
7) Discussing and voting upon motions, for which 21 days’ prior written notice (by no less than 5 Members) has been given to the Secretary. As at the date of this notice, no such motions have been received;
8) General discussion.
A member has a right to appoint a proxy, who must be a member of the Club.
Nominations for election must be given to the Club at least 21 days before the AGM. After that date, a list of nominations will be prepared. This list (and details of member sponsored motions, if any) will be placed on the club’s notice board and will be also made available on request. At the date of this notice, nominations (and the relevant board positions for which the candidates are standing) have been received from: Carolyn Waters (President), John Lemarchand(Treasurer), Joanna Reid (Secretary), Odette Hall, John Henderson Penny Grace, Theo Armenis,(Board members).
Bridge will commence at the conclusion of the meeting.
