West of England Bridge Club

On Friday evening we use cross-imped scoring as distinct from matchpoints and run a pairs event. It is not a session suitable for beginners or very new players. All are welcome but please come as a pair, and there is no need to provide prior notification as a game is guaranteed.

Play starts promptly at 7.00pm (note new start time from 31 March 2023), so please arrive by 6.55pm. There is a licensed bar available all evening.

We play Teams if possible, by matching up pairs without team-mates.

But if there are an odd number of pairs, we play Cross-IMPed Pairs.

For players who play frequently on Fridays, each session is part of a Friday League, which runs over three months.

Once a year (typically mid-September) the Friday session hosts the Club Handicapped Teams Championship, the Moorstone Cup.
