Sparta will be holding Tuesday afternoon Supervised Play Classes beginning April 2. This is a greatopportunity for new players learning or players wanting to refresh skills. Class based on "Bidding in the 21st Century" textbook from the ACBL. Only one topic for the day.The class will start with a short review of the theme of the day then we will spend the day learning and playing the topic with play of the hand reviews.All hands will have bidding on the topic of the day. Chris and I have been talking about how we can make the Swiss Team games a more level playing field,especially for the newer players. Starting with our Dec 16th game and moving forward, our Sparta Swiss Team games will be handicapped! This means that teams with fewer points than their match competition may have an ACBL specified number of IMPs added to their total score after comparing. I will explain how this all works at each game so teams understand how the scoringwill work using a handicap system....
