Arthur Hughes, David Banks, Tom Gisborne and Sandy Davies finished 1st equal in the Swiss Teams, the second of the two main events in the Yorkshire New Year Congress that replaced the EBU Year End Northern Congress. There were 26 teams.

Arthur and David also headed the Cross-IMPs table which showed good scoring by Chris and Jon Derrick and Ian and Julie Grant for their respective teams. Congratulations to all the above, and also to Richard Pike and David Waxman, 4th out of 74 in the Swiss Pairs and Graham Jepson and Janet Thomson in 7th place.
