To: All U21 players, parents, teachers, and helpers

As part of my plan to build an U21 squad, I'm pleased to announce that we will be running an U21 training weekend alongside the Central District Congress in Montrose from Friday 23 August to Sunday 25 August 2019.

The SBU will fund full board accommodation from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch for ten U21 players. If we have more than this, then there may be a small charge for accommodation but we shall spread the load and seek additional funding.

You will play in the main congress pairs and teams, starting on Friday evening and finishing on Sunday at 6pm, and we'll have our own training sessions in the mornings. As you will face more experienced players, it is good preparation for the Peggy Bayer Trophy and representing Scotland. There will be a number of experts around to help and many of the U26 squad will be there.

This a great opportunity to spend a weekend away, in a nice hotel, playing bridge and being able to discuss the hands with the team.

Please let me know if you are interested, even if you are unable to commit immediately. It would also be helpful to know if you cannot make it but want to be part of the squad.
