Our summer 2023 Beginner Bridge I series kicked off today at the Sigler Center with 14 new faces ready to learn to play duplicate.  Students explored beginning concepts like suits, point count, hand shape, dealer, declarer, dummy, vulnerability, and more.  Scoring hands helped students see the importance of trying to find a game over a par score.  The highlight of the day was beginning to look at hands, count points, and anticipate what contracts might be possible.

The class will add several students next week for lesson two--we anticipate 18-20 total students for the series.

In attendance today we had Rebecca Royse, Jean Martin, Diane Hansen, Martha Johnson, Russlyn Castle, Marshia Smith, Joni Guthrie, Patricia Wolfe, Buster Wolfe, April Gray, Cindy Blalock, Chelsea Wells, and Pat Faler.

If you know any of our students, please welcome them to Unit 214 when you see them.  They will attend class for 6 weeks and then be able to play in games and attend a Beginner II series of supervised play with focus lessons.
